MNUE Students Explore Their Homeland Through the “Patriotic-21” Program

Students enrolled in the Sports Tourism Program at the School of Physical Education of the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE) participate in the “Patriotic-21” Program throughout their studies. Through this initiative, students travel across all 21 provinces of Mongolia, gaining first-hand knowledge of their homeland while experiencing its natural beauty, historical heritage, and cultural traditions. The program aims to foster patriotism, national pride, and a deeper appreciation of Mongolian values among future generations.

The “Patriotic-21” Program integrates academic learning with experiential education by encouraging students to explore each province's unique geography, history, cultural landmarks, and local lifestyles. Through these journeys, students develop a stronger understanding of Mongolia’s diversity, strengthen their commitment to environmental conservation, and cultivate respect for the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

As part of the program, third-year students recently completed an educational tour of Mongolia’s three eastern provinces—Dornod, Sukhbaatar, and Khentii. Following this trip, two students successfully achieved the milestone of traveling to all 21 provinces of Mongolia. Many of their classmates have now visited 20 provinces and are close to completing the program as well.

The “Perfect Traveler” Club of the Sports Tourism Program recognizes students and alumni who complete journeys to all 21 provinces. To commemorate their achievements and preserve their travel memories, the club awards certificates and commemorative trophies to participants who successfully fulfill the requirements of the “Patriotic-21” Program. This year’s awards ceremony will take place at the end of the academic year.

More than just a travel initiative, the “Patriotic-21” Program serves as an important educational project that helps students understand and appreciate Mongolia’s natural and cultural treasures through direct experience. It aims to nurture responsible citizens and future tourism professionals who possess strong patriotic values, environmental awareness, and a deep sense of national identity.

Guided by the motto, “Creating Purposeful, Patriotic, and Proud Mongolians,” the School of Physical Education at MNUE continues to support activities that promote homeland education, patriotism, and personal development among its students.
