MNUE ATHLETES TO COMPETE IN THE “SANYA 2026” 6TH ASIAN BEACH GAMES
The 6th Asian Beach Games will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province, People’s Republic of China, from April 22 to 30, 2026.
The Games are organized by the Olympic Council of Asia and represent one of the largest continental multi-sport events dedicated to beach and water sports. Notably, this edition marks the return of the Asian Beach Games after a 10-year hiatus since the last edition in 2016. Around 45 Asian countries are expected to participate, competing across 14 sports and 15 disciplines.
Mongolia will be represented by a total of 55 athletes competing in 8 sports, where they will test their skills, strength, and endurance against Asia’s top athletes.
From the Mongolian National University of Education, a total of 11 athletes, 2 coaches, and 1 journalist have been selected to join the national team. They will compete in the following sports:
The Asian Beach Games are uniquely held on sand, requiring athletes to demonstrate high levels of endurance, agility, and technical ability. The program includes sports such as 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, beach handball, jiu-jitsu, beach wrestling, and aquathlon, making it not only a major sporting event but also an important platform for tourism and cultural exchange.
The Mongolian team is expected to perform competitively, with strong medal prospects particularly in jiu-jitsu and beach wrestling.
