MNUE to Host a Japanese Volleyball Coach under a Two-Year Assignment

MUNE School of Physical Education Expands Cooperation with JICA and Welcomes a Japanese Volleyball Specialist

On November 11, 2025, Mr. O. Bold-Erdene, Director of the School of Physical Education at Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE), held a meeting with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mongolia Office and the Mongolian Volleyball Federation.

The meeting was organized within the framework of MNUE’s 2025–2026 academic year initiative, “The Year of Teacher Education Program Reform and Quality Enhancement.” Participants exchanged views on expanding cooperation between the School of Physical Education and JICA, as well as exploring future collaborative activities.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Shiga Ryo, Volunteer Coordinator of the JICA Mongolia Office; Mr. Ts. Gantulga, Program Officer of JICA; Mr. O. Bold-Erdene, Director of the School of Physical Education at MNUE; and Ms. R. Tamiraa, Chairperson of the Coaches’ Council of the Mongolian Volleyball Federation and lecturer at the School of Physical Education.

JICA has been actively supporting Mongolia’s development for many years, particularly in the fields of education, healthcare, environmental protection, and human resource capacity building. MNUE has maintained a cooperative relationship with JICA since 1997, during which four Japanese specialists have served at the university, sharing their expertise and professional experience.

As a result of this cooperation, Ms. Nozomi Kamamoto, a Japanese volleyball coach, will join the Department of Sports Games at the School of Physical Education, MNUE, for a two-year assignment beginning in May 2026.

Educational Background and Professional Experience

Ms. Kamamoto graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya, Japan, specializing in volleyball.

Throughout her professional career, she has served as a teacher at Nashi First High School, Nagasaki-Goto Kaiyo High School, Isahaya Higashi Special Needs School, and Hokummeri High School. She also worked as an administrative officer at Yukokan High School in Nagasaki.

Sporting Achievements

Ms. Kamamoto has achieved remarkable success as an athlete, including:

  • Four-time champion of the All-Japan Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship;

  • Eight-time champion of the West Japan Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship.

Areas of Expertise in Athlete Development

Ms. Kamamoto specializes in developing the following skills among athletes:

  • Spatial awareness and optimal positioning;

  • Maintaining body balance in the air;

  • Improving stretch reflex responses;

  • Movement preparation and anticipation;

  • Efficient body control during technical execution.

Her professional interests also include movement analysis, experimental research, portrait drawing, design and handicrafts, as well as playing volleyball.

This cooperation is expected to make a significant contribution to strengthening teacher education, enhancing the quality of sports education, and expanding international academic and professional exchange opportunities for students, teachers, and coaches at MNUE.
